Häberlein & Mauerer has acquired Soho House Berlin and Kull & Weinzierl as new clients.

Soho House Berlin: A New Client for Häberlein & Mauerer Berlin:
Soho House Berlin, which is expected to open in the first quarter of 2010, is a private and exclusive club for members from the worlds of art, culture and the media. Soho House clubs already exist in London and New York.
The team headed by unit director Kristina Deppe and PR consultant Matteo Twerenbold are responsible for the press work surrounding the opening of the new private-member club, restaurant and hotel.

Kull & Weinzierl: A New Client for Häberlein & Mauerer Munich:
Restaurateur Rudi Kull and his partner, the architect Albert Weinzierl, operate Brenner, Buffet Kull Bar, Bar Centrale, riva Tal, riva Schwabing and the CORTIINA Hotel in Munich. Kull & Weinzierl will soon expand their portfolio with the new LOUIS boutique hotel: situated directly adjacent to Munich’s Viktualienmarkt (outdoor food market), the hotel will celebrate its grand opening in September 2009.
In addition to handling the classical press work for Kull & Weinzierl, senior consultant Catrin Schlatmann and her design team at haebmau’s Munich office are also responsible for the grand opening of the new LOUIS hotel and for inviting and looking after journalists at events.

Häberlein & Mauerer, Munich, has acquired three new clients: Samsonite, Rodenstock and Santoni.

New client Samsonite:
Founded in 1910, Samsonite presently ranks among the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality luggage. Samsonite awarded its PR budget for Germany to Häberlein & Mauerer’s Fashion team in Munich. The team, which is headed by PR manager Andrea Damböck, takes charge of the classical press work for Samsonite Red Label, Samsonite Black Label and American Tourister, as well as various licensed brands such as LACOSTE Bags. The Berlin Office will take care of the licensed brand Y-3 Bags.

New client Rodenstock:
Rodenstock is Germany’s leading manufacturer of lenses and frames for eyeglasses. Founded in 1877, the business awarded its budget for brand and product PR to Häberlein & Mauerer. The tasks assigned to the team led by senior consultant Catrin Schlatmann consist of press work for Rodenstock and all licensed brands in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

New client Santoni:
This traditional family-owned business has manufactured luxury footwear and leather accessories in Corridonia since 1975. The models in Santoni’s collections for ladies, gents and children are handcrafted with much love for detail in the brand’s own ateliers.
Senior consultant Catrin Schlatmann and her team now take over the press work on Santoni’s behalf for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Häberlein & Mauerer has acquired the new clients Agent Provocateur and LACOSTE Apparel, and PR Consultant Lilian Kurz has joined the fashion team at the agency’s Munich office.

New Fashion Clients:
LACOSTE, the traditional French brand which recently celebrated its 75th birthday, was founded in 1933 by the tennis player René Lacoste, whose nickname was “Le Crocodile.” Head designer Christophe Lemaire has been responsible for the perfect look of LACOSTE’s products since 2000. On behalf of LACOSTE Apparel, Häberlein & Mauerer will look after classical PR in Germany, the semiannual fashion show in New York, and the conception and organization of events.

The British lingerie brand Agent Provocateur was founded by Serena Rees and Joseph Corre in 1994 to assure that the female half of the couple would have truly beautiful undergarments. Despite their subsequent divorce, the couple’s project remained outstandingly successful: Agent Provocateur’s merchandise is currently available in fortythree shops around the world, with new venues added regularly. Celebrity testimonials include Kate Moss, Maggie Gyllenhaal and the latest celebrity, supermodel Karen Elson. Häberlein & Mauerer will take care of classical press work, as well as the conception and organization of events, e.g. the grand opening of Munich’s first Agent Provocateur shop.

Fashion Personnel
Lilian Kurz joined the fashion team as a new PR Consultant at Häberlein & Mauerer’s Munich office in November 2008. Before coming to the agency, she worked in Marc O’Polo PR team and earned her master’s degree in communication sciences. Her responsibilities at Häberlein & Mauerer include looking after the agency’s clients Levi’s® and LACOSTE Apparel. Lilian Kurz is tasked with strategic and conceptual client management; she and her team share responsibility for the press work, as well as for organizing and conducting events.

Andrea Damböck switched to the position of PR Manager on January 1, 2009. She had been an editor at ELLE before joining Häberlein & Mauerer in 2007. Under her direction, her team will look after the clients HUGO, Agent Provocateur and North Sails. Andrea Damböck and and her team share responsibility for press work, as well as for organizing and conducting events.

The Experiential World of Fashion
Häberlein & Mauerer established its Fashion experiential world more than twenty years ago: Levi’s® was one the original clients when the agency was first founded in 1988, and Levi’s® has remained with the Häberlein & Mauerer ever since. In ensuing years, the agency established several Fashion teams in Munich and Berlin. Each of these teams create and implement national and international communications concepts. They feel at home at the New York Fashion Week the same way as they do at Pitti in Florence or the Berlin Fashion Week. The portfolio ranges from simple product PR to integrative consumer campaigns. The optimal mix of small, medium-size and large clients facilitates valuable synergies.

Among other labels, Häberlein & Mauerer looks after Fashion brands such as adidas, Dockers, flip*flop, HUGO, Berlin Fashion Week (IMG), Kostas Murkudis, Levi’s®, Turnover and Y-3.

Häberlein & Mauerer’s Berlin office has added new destinations: South Tyrol and Western Sweden, as well as the repeatedly prizewinning Wellness Hotel Post in Bregenzer Wald and the Susanne Kaufmann cosmetic line. Effective immediately, the tourism team in Munich will look after the family-oriented Design Hotel Walliserhof in Vorarlberg.

New Clients

Unit Director Kristina Deppe and her Tourism Team in Berlin again successfully won the pitch for the three-year advertising budget of the Südtirol Marketing Gesellschaft. As in the past three years, the team will continue to look after the company’s PR for Germany.

Western Sweden joined Häberlein & Mauerer’s clientele in January 2009, thus adding another destination for the Berlin-based tourism team. The goal of the collaboration is to increase public awareness of Western Sweden as a region for tourism. Tourism media and lifestyle media will be the twin focal points of the classical PR work.

Susanne Kaufmann’s name stands for high-quality natural cosmetics, for many years of spa competence, and for the repeatedly prize-winning Hotel Post at Bezau in Bregenzer Wald, Austria. In January 2009, Häberlein & Mauerer’s Berlin-based tourism team took on Susanne Kaufmann’s classical press work, as well as the conception and implementation of various press events and tools to address opinion leaders. Special attention is being given to the new opening of the hotel, which will reopen in August 2009 after extensive renovations. The communication focuses on beauty and high-end titles, as well as on tourism media.

The tourism team in Häberlein & Mauerer’s Munich office has been looking after Walliserhof, a family-oriented design hotel in Brandner Valley, since February 2009. Häberlein & Mauerer takes care of the hotel’s communications in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as individual projects in England and France. The focus is on Active Travel, with particular priority given to lifestyle media and general-interest media.

The Tourism Experiential World at Häberlein & Mauerer

Tourism has been a full-fledged experiential world at Häberlein & Mauerer since 2001. Right from the start, the agency’s tourism team pursued a comprehensive thematic approach: this approach facilitates the solicitation of various media and editorial departments, and is not exclusively limited to the tourism press and tourism themes. The agency currently operates two tourism teams: one in Munich and a second in Berlin.

Unit Director Kristina Deppe had had worked in PR for hotels and destinations for many years before she switched to Häberlein & Mauerer’s Tourism & Food team in Berlin in 2007. Together with her team, she’s responsible for Western Sweden, South Tyrol and Susanne Kaufmann’s Hotel Post, as well as for communications for Therme Meran, the Samuel Brown Group Hotels, Südtiroler Apfel g.g.A., and the European Union’s “New European Food Safety” campaign.

In 2001, Unit Director Christian Daiber was one of the cofounders of the Tourism experiential world in Munich. Since then, he and his team have looked after Golden Tulip Hotels Inns & Resorts, Derag Hotel & Living, and Walliserhof. The team in Munich is particularly specialized in the field of Active Travel.

The start of the New Year coincides with the debut of Häberlein & Mauerer’s seventh notepad. This year’s book was designed by Mirko Borsche. Its text, which was created by our coworker Armin Wolf, explores the shortcomings of languages.

ɛɐ̯’le:pnɪsvɛlt

You can talk. You can describe. You can explain. You can reason. You can justify. In the end you have to bring it to the point. This might be a simple word.

Sometimes there isn't an English expression for what you want to say, so you have to borrow the missing words, for example from the German language:

You often find yourself in zugzwang to come up with new creative ideas. You wish you had a doppelgaenger so you could follow your colleagues, who have packed their rucksacks and taken to the autobahn because they were struck by wanderlust. But nobody is around to help you overcome your angst.

If you want zeitgeist and creativity, we advise you to take a closer look. Then you will find our erlebniswelten. This is where we develop the concepts you need to get your message across. With our support you will soon become a meister of communication!

November 2008: Häberlein & Mauerer is pleased to announce the PR contract from Skylotec.

Client consultant Florian Flach and his Sport team at Häberlein & Mauerer took on responsibility for communication for the Skylotec GmbH in November 2008. Headquartered in Neuwied and with more than 60 years of experience in the field of industrial fall protection, Skylotec entered the recreational climbing market as a newcomer last year. Häberlein & Mauerer assists Skylotec with classical PR for both the industrial specialized field and the more consumer-oriented sports segment.

In 2008 Skylotec decided to take its more than 60 years of expertise in the industrial field of fall protection and apply those insights to the discipline of sport climbing. Skylotec offers a wide variety of climbing harnesses for alpine use, as well as a collection of functional clothing and an extensive spectrum of hardware products to round its assortment.

Skylotec’s uncompromising standards of safety and quality really pay off:Skylotec’s “Gecko” climbing harness for children won the coveted Outdoor Award soon after the brand’s debut in the new market segment.

In addition to Skylotec, Häberlein & Mauerer’s Sport team in Munich also looks after clients such as bollé, Dainese, GORE-TEX®, WINDSTOPPER®, GOLF.DE, PADI and K2.

The Häberlein & Mauerer PR agency is pleased to welcome another Food client to its Munich office.

Effective immediately, the team led by Unit Director Martin Opercan will take over PR for the barbecue specialist Weber-Stephen Deutschland GmbH of Ingelheim. The focal points are establishing and expanding product and brand PR for Weber, as well as strengthening the brand’s presence in consumer and lifestyle media.

Since 1952, the name “Weber” has been synonymous with the evolution from the earliest grills to exclusive outdoor cooking on high-quality charcoal, gas and electrically powered devices. The revolution in barbecue culture began more than fifty years ago when the American George Stephen invented the kettle grill. In the years since the production of the first serially produced kettle grill, Weber has continually encouraged evolution by introducing new variants and innovative features.

The Food team in Munich is also responsible for PR for Nespresso and the Zwiesel Kristallglas AG. The Food team in Berlin, which is led by Senior Client Consultant Kristina Deppe, was recently awarded the advertising accounts for the Diageo Deluxe Portfolio and the EU’s “New European Food Safety” Campaign.

The Häberlein & Mauerer PR agency in Munich has won the PR account of the GUHL hair cosmetics brand, thus further expanding its competence in the Beauty field. Beginning on July 1, 2007, the Beauty team led by Managing Partner Uwe Freytag took over ongoing PR work for the hair cosmetics manufacturer. The press and PR work focuses on beauty and lifestyle media in Germany and Austria.

The GUHL brand, which has its headquarters in Griesheim, belongs to Kao Brands Europe. GUHL stands for naturalness and premium quality.

The Häberlein & Mauerer PR agency in Munich has been awarded the PR accounts of the La Prairie luxury beauty care brand and the Haut- und Laserzentrum an der Oper [Skin and Laser Center at the Opera] (Munich), thus further expanding the agency’s competence in the Beauty and Health field. The Beauty team led by Managing Partner Uwe Freytag, Unit Director Grit König and Client Consultant Petra Schweighard already looks after the agency’s long-term clients evian and Remington, as well as the Guhl hair cosmetics brand, which joined the team’s clientele on July 1, 2007. For all of these clients, the focus of the press and PR work is on the German beauty and lifestyle media.

The agency has steadily expanded its business in the Beauty sector ever since Petra Schweighard switched to Häberlein & Mauerer in October 2006. Prior to joining the agency, Petra Schweighard had worked for five years as beauty editor at ELLE, the fashion magazine. “The team’s new structure has firmly established itself,” Uwe Freytag explains. “By the end of 2007, we want to have gained access to wider segments of the beauty market. This includes classical cosmetic brands, as well as the entire health and wellness field.”

October 31, 2008: Häberlein & Mauerer celebrates the grand opening of the newly designed Premium Clubhouse at Autostadt Wolfsburg.

Alexandra Birkel from the Interior Design team and Senior Client Consultant Catrin Schlatmann supported Autostadt Wolfsburg with PR for the newly designed pavilion’s grand opening on October 31, 2008. The art and design in the Premium Clubhouse represent the brand-overarching luxury and premium segment of the Volkswagen Group.

In addition to inviting the individual journalists and looking after them onsite, Alexandra Birkel and Catrin Schlatmann were also responsible for the photo shoot of the artworks and the premises, as well as for assisting with the journalistic post-processing of the event.

Architect Stephen Williams designed the pavilion to be a space that uniquely combines architecture and art and that invites visitors to experience a change of perspectives. The Premium Clubhouse forms the perfect framework for displaying artworks by the three renowned artists Olaf Nicolai, Anselm Reyle and Peter Zimmermann, who collaboratively enriched Autostadt Wolfsburg by giving it another inspiring location.

Stephen Williams lets the lounge of the Premium Clubhouse float almost entirely freely within the space of the pavilion. With the help of selected materials and surprising details in the salon, interior designers Andreas Murkudis and Christian Haas created an ambience that appeals to visitors’ senses and encourages communicative exchange.

Art and design are also the passions of Häberlein & Mauerer’s Interior Design team. In addition to looking after the project for the Autostadt Wolfsburg, the team also takes charge of our long-term clients Schönbuch and Steelcase. The most recent project, the Häberlein & Mauerer Design Salon, was tremendously popular when it premiered in June 2008: more than fifty journalists from the lifestyle and design field took advantage of the joint showroom for the Sony, Schönbuch, Nespresso and Schott Zwiesel brands.

The Häberlein & Mauerer PR agency further expands its competence in the field of Food PR.

Diageo Deluxe Portfolio (www.diageo.de)

The pitch, which had been drafted by Senior Client Consultant Kristina Deppe and her Food team in Berlin, triumphed over its competitors and won for Häberlein & Mauerer the right to create the communication for the DIAGEO spirits manufacturer’s Deluxe Portfolio, which contains the group’s high-quality premium spirits. In addition to classical PR, the focus is on conceiving and implementing events and on opinion-leader communication for the Johnnie Walker® Blue Label™ and Gold Label™ (whisky), Tanqueray® No. TEN™ (gin), Cîroc® (vodka), Don Julio® (tequila) and Ron Zacapa® (rum) brands. The team will look after PR in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Client Consultants Sanjay Cachemaille (consulting, PR) and Matteo Twerenbold (event implementation) are responsible for the implementation. Häberlein & Mauerer had already been active on behalf of DIAGEO from 2001 to 2004, when the focal point was the nationwide introduction and staging of the Smirnoff Ice product.

EU Campaign: “New European Food Safety” (www.suedtiroler-originale.de)

Häberlein & Mauerer’s venue in Berlin will likewise be responsible for implementing the EU’s “New European Food Safety” campaign. Consumers, the trade and producers will be informed about the benefits and contents of the European Quality Seal (protected geographic specification) and the DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) on the basis of three exemplary products: Südtiroler Apfel g.g.A., Südtiroler Speck g.g.A. and Südtiroler DOC Wein [South Tyrolean apples, bacon and wine]. Senior Client Consultant Kristina Deppe and her team are responsible for PR in Germany, Italy, Poland and Czech Republic. Their tasks include classical press work, press conferences, media cooperations, press trips and trade events. The PR is integrated into the overall campaign, which is accompanied by other communications measures such as classical advertising. The project, which continues until October 2010, is financed by the European Union, Italy, the South Tyrolean Apple Consortium, the South Tyrolean Bacon Consortium and the Association of South Tyrolean Wineries.

With this client account, Häberlein & Mauerer further expands its Food experiential world. The agency’s Food team in Munich looks after Nespresso, Strongbow Gold and the Zwiesel Kristallglas AG, while the team in Berlin works on a project-by-project basis for Coca-Cola.

Häberlein & Mauerer’s activities in the Food field cover a variety of segments. The spectrum ranges from classical product PR and brand PR to integrated communications measures.

The Häberlein & Mauerer agency, which specializes in PR for consumer brands, has won the account for a new client: the bollé brand of premium eyewear. Effective immediately, the Munich-based Sport team led by Florian Flach under the supervision of Managing Partner Thomas Bergmann will take over bollé’s ongoing press and PR work in Germany and Austria. bollé belongs to the Bushnell Performance Optics Group, which has its German headquarters in Kolbermoor near Rosenheim, and which also includes the Bushnell, Tasco and Serengeti brands. The group, which is one of the world’s leading brands in the fields of sport optics, premium eyewear and outdoor accessories, is headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, USA.

The Sport team will individually address sport media and selected sport communities to achieve the collaborative goal of increasing public awareness of the brand, which specializes in eyewear for athletes and skiers, as well as optical frames. The next step will be to expand the work to include lifestyle media.

bollé is an ideal addition to Florian Flach’s Sport team, which already looks after the Dainese, K2 and Padi Europe brands. The experiential world of Sport, which has been an essential component in Häberlein & Mauerer’s portfolio for many years, thus undergoes further expansion. The agency’s clients in this experiential world also include W. L. Gore & Associates.
