"I love a wide range of colours."

Sony Ericsson: “Summer Colours” Press Trip 2008

Blindingly beautiful nature and a light found nowhere else on earth: that’s Iceland, rich in sagas and intimately connected to tradition. But Iceland also shows another and starkly progressive side with internationally renowned artists like Björk or Sigur Rós. This predestines the far-northern island to be the destination-of-choice when the task is to introduce selected journalists to Sony Ericsson’s latest Cyber-shot mobile phones in contemporary and magical surroundings.

It all began with a postcard from Iceland. The card was an invitation from Häberlein & Mauerer, which offered the card’s recipients a chance to participate in a colorful trip. Fourteen selected lifestyle and technology journalists took advantage of this four-day-long opportunity to use their Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot mobiles to capture fascinating motifs on the fiery island. The motto of the trip – “Summer Colours” – was also its leitmotif: the conceptual framework was formed by various worlds of colors, plus a professional introduction by photographer Daniel Sommer, who gave the journalists a valuable introduction to the themes of light and color.

Intoxicating Colors on the Fiery Island
Among the other items on the program were the “Golden Circle Tour,” lunch on black sand, a snowmobile ride across a white glacier, the verdant landscape at Seljalandsfoss waterfall and the Blue Lagoon. An especially set-up, non-public blog gave journalists an appropriate forum on which to post the most beautiful pictures that they had taken on the press trip. Häberlein & Mauerer has looked after Sony Ericsson since 2005. Ongoing presswork and networking with various affiliated groups and multipliers numb among the agency’s most important fields of activity.
